Gorkhi-Terelj National Park You will be leaving the city early in the morning to take advantage of the better asphalt road to arrive at Chonjinboldog area where Chinggis Khan Monument is located within an hour. You will see true nomadic lifestyle as soon as you travel outside of the city of Ulaanbaatar. Chinggis Khan Monument is an extremely tall stainless steel statue of Ghengiis Khaan. You may take an elevator ride up to the horse neck with spectacular view of the surrounding area. There is also a small archaeology museum in the base of the statue with ubiquitous souvenir shops. You may try on traditional Mongolian costumes at the museum. After visiting Statue, we will drive to the Terelj National Park is one of the beautiful national parks of Mongolia and stop by the Turtle Rock for some photography. The Tuul River flows through the park. This park also has a meditation Buddhist monastery that is open to visitors. Park wildlife includes brown bears and over 250 species of birds and you will have a chance to see a lot of animals such as yaks, sheep, goats and horses hanging out around this National park. The park has interesting formatted rocks and includes two famous formations named for things they resemble: Turtle Rock and the Old Man Reading a Book. Once we got to the Ariyabal buddhist temple, we will have a welcome lunch with the host family who will guide us to the horseback riding following days, wonder around the area and cook Mongolian National foods with the host family followed by an overnight stay in a nomadic family in ger. After you stay in nomadic family, you have a choice of riding horse. The host nomadic family make dinner for you. After dinner, we will have free time for hiking around or playing with the kids there.
Gorkhi-Terelj National Park After having breakfast with the family, you can experience ordinary daily lifestyle of nomads like helping them milk cows, gather duns, making cheese and yogurt. After lunch, we will be coming back to UB before evening.
